Quick! Good NY-Style SLICE of pizza in the E-Village?

  • 5

Am seeing an old friend from HS this afternoon... She now lives in Seattle, and is craving a good slice of pizza. Not fancy neapolitan style anything, just a good old fashioned, delicious NY slice. Any recommendations in the east village where we'll be?

Thanks!
Emily

  1. For slices, Artichoke (excellent square, mediocre round, but no seating) or Vinny Vincenz (good square, round is OK if you ask for it well done, but at least they have seats).

(If you have time to sit down to share some pies, Luzzo's.)

Thank you kathryn for your super fast and helpful response! We went to Vinny's... They had a round pie just coming out of the oven that looked delicious -- and it was! Next time we'll try the sicilian, but this fresh pie was just iresistable. And the location was perfect since we were on 12th between 1st and 2nd and it was nice not to have to walk too far in the rain... ext t

    2. I would say no to artichoke for good old fashioned. just my opinion though. Vinny i would lean more towards

      1. Vinny Vincenz also operates a truck with a pizza oven on Union Square West, in front of Staples. The squares (Sicilian) are as good as any Sicilian I've ever had anywhere. You could get a slice or two, find a seat in Union Square--oh, never mind, it's pouring outside. Go to Vinny Vincenz on First Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets.

        1. Stromboli on St. Marks and 1st (corner) is our standard slice.
