Rosco's - Hartford, CT - Courant Article

Just wanted to post up a link to the Hartford Courant cover page article about small business closings which highlights Ron and the closing of Rosco's. It's a shame that he was afforded no help by the state, I hadn't realized the fall out after the closing.

I loved Rosco's and it reminds me that we need to support our locally owned restaurants that we enjoy so much. I hope Ron is doing alright and we see him again soon!

I'm still not sure what prompted the move to downtown. The many times I went to the original location business seemed to be booming and you could PARK right there. Did the foot traffic not make up for the rent downtown?

Thanks for sharing that article. I'm still very depressed over the closing of Rosco's. There was nothing like it around. I liked to order Rosco's dogs as they appeared on the menu. He had a great sense of what goes well together so even if you thought meat sauce and say cole slaw didn't belong on a dog together, you had to try it and you'd end up loving it.

Ron was cool too and always remembered me when I'd stop in (from Franklin Ave location to Temple Street). I have the good fortune of working with Ron's sister in law and I believe I've made it pretty clear that she needs to RUN to my desk if she has any inside news on him potentially reopening.
