Bear Claw in Pinole has some good donuts made in-house. Andy's Donuts on 23rd in Richmond make respectable donuts. One of the few items I like a lot at Bouchon Bakery in Yountville is the jelly donuts. Worth the $3, IMO. I had a pre-celebration of Thursday at Cafe Fanny with a beignet. Does that count? The sugar outside the puffy square beignet melted and got sticky. It came with a little container of fresh peach jam which was a little on the sweet side, but deeply peachy with chunks of the fruit.
