Off the Strip....

Im helping out a couple who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in Las Vegas in the next few weeks. They will be staying at the Paris Hotel and would like some off the strip recommendations.

When I was planning my trip in April...chowhound sent me to Hot 'n Juicy Crawfish and Raku and of corse I will be recommending that!! However they need two more restaurants...
no french, no italian (they are watching their waistline). The other restriction is that it shouldnt be a $40 cab ride.

Lotus of Siam would be another great option but its not on their diet!!

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  1. Todd's in Henderson is a good choice; eclectic and excellent food. If they are moderately adventuresome, I very much like China Mama off Spring Mt and Jones.

If they don't mind a bit of racket, Firefly is a good tapas place off Paradise.

Todd's will be an expensive cab ride, at least $50 each way. China Mama $25-30 depending where they are in the Valley. Firefly is their best bet.

    2. I'd add Hugo's (downtown) to the list. Old school class - all ladies are given roses. Todd's would be a big cab ride but the food is really good. Firefly is MUCH closer and is another good choice. Rosemary's another cab ride and a good choice. For a little oddball variety - Afternoon Tea - Mon-Thursday - Verandah - Four Seasons.

Both Hugos and Rosemarys will cost well over fourty dollars each way via cab from Paris. What about the Burger Bar at Mandelay Bay?

Burger Bar would be a great choice. They can split the burger, not eat the bun, order salad instead of fries. Its perfect!!
I will look into Firefly...seeing as its closer than the other options mentioned and they really dont want to spend a lot on cabs.
          Thank you again everyone!!
