Dinner near ABQ airport?

p

We'll be flying into Albuquerque and driving to Santa Fe, but will be landing around dinner time. Any suggestions on where to get a good dinner near the airport or somewhere that won't take us too far out of our way? Yes, I know that it's not a long drive to Santa Fe, but we will be hungry when we land and we don't eat fast food (other than In-n-Out burgers, which are unavailable in NM). Thanks!

Nob Hill area is close to airport and you will find you best bets re food and bar there.

Exit the airport and head north on Yale Blvd [do not get on I-25] go about 2 miles and make a right onto Central.

[Quarter's will be on your left on Yale as you head to Central. Decent BBQ and beer]

UNM will be on your left. A quintessential place - will be on your right on the corner of Cornell and Central. A student hangout. Great New Mexican food on the cheap. No bar, but could eat there and go to bar after.

Continuing east on Central, you will come to NobHill. In addition to Flying Star [towards the end on right side, just before Carlislie] ; here are some others to consider:
Nob Hill Bar and Grill - [right side of street, corner of Bryn Mawr]lively place, good food and drink
IL Vicino - a brew pub with great beer and excellent pizza, sandwiches
O'Neills - 6 or eight blocks past Carlisle, good bar and good
Two Fools - good bar and food
A really trendy bar - Imbibe - on left, corner of Central and Richmond; cigar bar

    Some food for thougt!

      I somehow left this out
"A quintessential place FRONTIER - will be on your right on the corner of Cornell and Central. A student hangout. Great New Mexican food on the cheap. No bar, but could eat there and go to bar after."

Also, a great French place, La Provence. Also in Nob Hill, on Central. It will be on your left, just after UNM, and passed the Girard intersection.

Just WEST of the interstate on Central Ave is the best Naples style thin crust pizza this town has to offer: Farina Pizzeria.

Excellent salads, appetizers, and local beer/wine list, too.

I am not familiar with this place - is it old time or new?

          Gentrification-time. Certainly quite popular.

Farina is exceptional; imo possibly the best pizza in New Mexico. Terrific wine list, too.

A venture of the people who operate Artichoke Cafe on the same side of Central but across the Edith Street cross street.

Will mark this as a place to check out.
