Two years ago at dim sum at Kam Fung I had a wonderful dessert called "Winter Melon Cake", but have not seen it there since. The last time I was there, about a month ago, I asked one of the ladies at the front about it, and she said that they don't make it any more.

Has anyone come across it at other dim sum places?

If what you seek is Wife Cake, you will find some in the Chinese pastry shops in Chinatown. I remember seeing them at the new shop across La Gauchetiere that looks like a carbon copy of Harmony. I think I've seen them at Harmony as well.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try, but don't remember pastry or spices in it. I generally don't like spices in my desserts, so I would have remembered if there were spices in it.
