Got foodies coming to town and they are staying on Penn Ave near Kinkead's - is it still as good as it used to be? Any other recs in the vicinity? Is Blacksalt (even though not really close) better??

If you can afford it, Marcels is nearby and excellent. Blue Duck Tavern is also in that neck of the woods. Founding Farmers is nearby, but gets mixed reviews.

I like Hook (Georgetown) and Blacksalt for seafood. It's been a few years since I've been to Kinkeads, but I think it's still a solid choice as well.

I would say KINKEADS and BLACKSALT are excellent choices. One better than the other?
Think not, personal preference and mood are the factor for me when we decide which.

Had dinner at Kinkead's last night and it was good, but not much better than that. The curry shrimp soup (a special) was the only standout dish. still, high marks for comfort, service etc.

Any suggestions for lunch in the same neck of the woods (or Georgetown) - nothing too heavy as we have dinner at Central. Thanks.
