Inexpensive health food lunch spots in and around San Francisco?
Need some ideas... These are some of the places I go and the things I get there. Would love to know of places in the South Bay and Peninsula as well.
Whole Foods 4th St (Overpriced, awesome selection)
Samovar Tea Lounge (Tofu, Lettuce and Tomato is awesome)
Chipotle (vegan Bol with everything is awesome)
Medicine Eatstation (gone and bummed, miss that brown rice and miso soup)
The Plant/Lettus (Great local spot, have only eaten dinner there though)
Boxed Foods (Great tofu salad, decent tempeh sandwich, better as a lettuce wrap)
Where can I get something like a nice bowl of brown rice with some light and healthy veggies and tofu? A good vegan sandwich? Some real home-made and vegan falafel? Perhaps some delicious pickles like those from Cultured Pickle Shop? Maybe an outstanding and healthy taqueria?
Does anyone else want to eat like that?

The cheapest healthiest, most widely available veggie item in SF/Bay Area is probably a veggie burrito. Cancun, El Castillito, etc. Just about every taqueria carries one...it's just a matter of go through things or doing a search. Whole wheat tortillas and even brown rice are carried at quite a few.

Here's my Yelp list on where I can eat healthy in the South Bay and another on where I go veggie:

-Chef Ko (best fake meat - made from some exotic mushroom - I've ever had; doesn't really taste like meat - good in it's own right
)-Sai's (green beans in black bean sauce)
-Pluto's (love their salads and availability of fresh fruit as a salad topper)
-New Kapadokia (great veggie meze like the red lentil kofte)I've heard great things about Sprout Cafe in Palo Alto. And I love Berkeley's Cafe Intermezzo for sandwiches (made on housemade bread) and salads.

I like PowerSource in the Financial District:

Beautiful! - in Laurel Village.
SF Weekly calls it "pricey" but I was just sooo happy to find healthy, favorful food, I think of it as "reasonable for what it is"
