I am looking for a place where my husband and I can have some delicious fast food or drive-through delights that we can eat while our baby is sleeping in the back seat and we enjoy a "date night". Any suggestions on or off island is welcome

I gotta say, I don't get Dic Ann's. Tried it once when it opened here on St. Jacques and vowed never to go again. Greasy and well, UGH. Sorry.

I guess to each their own... for the once or twice a year I have it it's good. I don't really eat greasy food. I like their hot dogs.. I don't love the fries to be honest. The poutine is really mushy and it makes the fries all soggy..My boyfriend hates dic Anns. I guess you either love it or hate it. I do like their michigan sauce they put on the Hamburgers. It's a little spicy and I like that.

When I tried it I actually wondered if it was just me - I had always heard legendary tales of Dic Ann's - I guess I just don't like my burgers saucy.

And yup, to each his own.

I have to agree... I just don't get their burgers. Don't like the sauce, their meat, the fries. It just doesn't work for me.

And I always thought I was the only one that didn't get their food - and I've always been puzzled about that, given the raves others give it. Glad to know I'm not alone!!

Yeah! My husband also hates their burgers. A friend had raved about it but he was not pleased to have his meat flatened and "sauced"! I on the other hand enjoyed my flat burger but I can't say that I found it worth the detour.

I've actually never tried the Orange Julep so I'll have to give it a try. Should be an experience.

Not a recco since I've never been but given the dearth of replies it might be worth a shot. A while back someone claimed that Pizza Pita, which has a drive-through, makes the best falafel in Montreal as well as kosher pizzas. If the falafel is indeed as good as Chez Benny's, you'll have struck gold.

i think the falafel at Pizza Pita is much better than Chez Benny's or Amir.

Not sure why you put Benny and Amir in the same sentence. The former's falafel is great; most aficionados rank it, along with Jerusalem Express's and Freiha's, as the best in the GMA. The latter's tastes like it's made from a mix (as does the falafel at every Lebanese joint I've tried around town, the late Bazaar being the exception that proved the rule).

Because they aren't comparable. "As Pindar says, 'Read my meaning.'"

They have a website -- www.pizzapita.com -- that, um, walks you through the drive-through.

                Note:
                - Closed for Shabbat (Friday afternoon through Saturday sundown)
                - Best to call ahead for takeout orders.
