Best Burger?

p

Having recently relocated from a burger Meca, I get an almost weekly craving. I've had a couple but am curious to hear what people who have been here longer think.

I've had delicious ones at 8 oz. . . when they came out right. But the rest of the place is kind of weird and off. One time, our fries and onion rings came out before our burgers (or deviled eggs - which never came) and our server apologized by saying that the fryer gets really backed up on busy nights so he wanted to order the fried items before the burgers so that we'd get them, but he didn't expect that they would be so fast. Geez.

I worry for Cheeseburger Baby, Five Guys in going in across the street.

I've been told there is a super Big Mac-type burger at Big Pink but I haven't had it yet.

Here's an old, and long, thread on Top Burgers in Fla. which has a good bit of info but hasn't been updated for a while.

There's also a local blog dedicated to the cause ->

My favorites are Kingdom, Red Light, and ... I hate to admit this ... Houstons. But I've not yet tried many contenders including 8oz, Five Guys, etc.

I'm heartened to see Frod give the nod to Houston's. It really is one of the best burgers I've had in town. Staying with Gables burgers, Yard House and Oneburger have yet to let me down with their burgers.

You must try Clarke's in South of FIfth area of South Beach...their burgers are huge--probably around 10 oz, juicy, flavorful and, if you want, come with (no extra charge), my favorite, cheese, mushrooms and onions...then take a mini road trip to Hollywood and check out the kitschy, waterfront dive, Le Tub, which some scream is the best burger in the country.

I haven't eaten at Joe Allen in ages. will definitely check it out again soon. you know who else has a stellar burger? Ritz Carlton---South Beach and Key Biscayne.

I like the burgers at Char-Hut, Five Guys, Jack's Old Fashion, Kelly's Landing, Kingdom, Le Tub, Michael's Genuine, Red Light and Sonny's Famous Steak Hogies. I still want/need to try Clarke's, Bourbon Steak and give 8oz. another shot. Always looking for new contenders...

If only we had a Char-Hut onSouth Beach...where's Kelly's Landing and has anyone tried Fatburger?

Kelly's Landing is a couple of blocks north of 17th st. in Ft. Lauderdale. You have to try their fried clam bellies, chowder and lobster rolls too. It's across the street from a Five Guys and Total Wine which makes for a nice burger/wine/beer crawl....

Best burger on SoBe is on the sand at the Love Food Cafe. Jalapeno burger or bacon burger is the way to go. Ice Box actually makes a decent burger too. Ive gotta try Clarke's sometime.

that's right! I had the Love Food burger at the Burger Bash this year and was in heaven! I voted for them (twice, shhhh!) I always forget about that place because it's on the actual beach.

Speaking of best burgers. I'm going to be in Marco Island from June 13th to the 20th. Can anyone suggest burger places in either Marco Island, Naples or Ft. Myers that are worth the drive? Muchas gracias in advance.

Beast, I can't believe you are retreating from the question at hand and heading west. looking for recommendations. This may require immediate revocation of your Burger beast card. YOu could be slider boy now

ahaha SLIDER BOY. Seriously, who makes the best sliders? P112, Cheeseburger Baby?

Five Guys is the best "fast food" burger.

Michael's Genuine, Red Light, and Houston's are my favorite 305 burgers. I've had a couple of pretty good burgers at 8 oz also but from other's reports they seem to be wildly inconsistent.

Frod, don't be ashamed, I had another Hickory Burger @ Houston's today and it was great as always.

Haven't yet tried some of the board's major contenders in Clarke's, Bourbon Steak, or Kingdom.

Actually meat market might have the best slider

Chowfather......How dare you sir, how dare you! Alright since you twisted my arm, these are my currents favorites: Keg South (on US1, the other location in Kendall seems to be falling on hard times), Kingdom, Le Tub, Five Guys, Nexxt Cafe (7 inch burger) and John Martin's (in particular the Black n Blue burger). There....Chowfather, are you happy? Now does anyone have suggestions for the Marco Island area, lol.
