soon to be openings in Chinatown
Big Fish space (on Tyler) will be opening as Jade Garden. Grand Chow Chau space (on Beach) is under renovation but did not see a sign for the new name.

Right. I wrote a blurb about Jade Garden yesterday--I was unaware, though, that it was in the Big Fish Seafood space (thanks for pointing that out!). The address for Jade Garden is 18-20 Tyler Street; does that take up Big Fish and another spot, or was Big Fish at 18-20 as well?

I think it's precisely the same space. I'm always hopeful about new places. There is a trend in Chinatown that they hire a good chef and the place does well until the chef leaves.

I think the Grand Chow Chau space (not sure where on Beach St that is) is the new Malaysian place being built out. Kitsch-y decorations, but Penang - which is quite good - is also that way!

Hi Fredid:
It's near the corner of Harrison on Beach. It would be nice to have another Malaysian place though I like Penang. We have enough so-so Cantonese places and a little diversity would be great. I'd love a Cambodian place or Hakka or Manchurian but these are not likely.
