Can anyone offer an opinion on this place? I want to get a gift certificate for my daughter who lives in Portland and love Louisiana cooking. How does it compare to Montage?

Thanks one and all.

Thank you all for the information; we're going to save Roux for when I visit, hopefully later this summer.

In the meantime, I got her a gift certificate from Ten-01, and she was thrilled.

It's been some time since I ate at Roux, but I was very impressed with every dish. I would recommend it.

I too like Roux. Creole food with a Northwest twist. Pretty unique and good both times I ate there.

OK, if no one has anything to say about Roux, can anyone offer another suggestion for a 29-year-old and her boyfriend? I have gotten her certificates in the past for Montage and Clyde Common, both of which she liked very much.

I like Roux. There are only a small handful of places doing what they do, and I think the food is pretty consistent. I especially like the brunch they offer. I say stick with Roux, I doubt your daughter will be disappointed.

if she somehow liked Montage, she will LOVE Roux.

other places she may really enjoy:
                EaT oyster bar
                Acadia
                Everett Street Bistro
