Recs requested - great atmosphere in Brevard?

  • 6

Hi!

I'm trying to come up with someplace really cool I can take my husband for dinner this weekend for his birthday. It'd be really great to find a place with a cozy, kinda romantic atmosphere. I'm not set on any one kind of food (we like all types), and the place doesn't have to be fancy - in fact almost better if it isn't TOO fancy. It could even be a dive if it were kinda funky and cozy in the right way.

Would like to stay around the $20 a plate (or under) range, but COULD go higher if it was really worth it. If all else fails I'll probably take him to Ashley's but I was hoping for new alternative ideas to choose from.

Thanks so much!

  1. Pineda Crossing has a varied menu & a dark, somewhat funky interior. A lot of the entrees are under $20. ( http://www.pinedacrossing.com/index.html

Baco Wine Cafe is a small, cozy place that features some well made, interesting Italian fare. ( http://baccowinecafe.com/default.aspx )

Matt's Casbah on New Haven Ave. in Melb. and Mezzaluna in the old Eau Gallie section on Highland Ave. might fit your bill too.

    2. Forgot to mention Salt & Sweet, which is located in the shopping center on the NW corner of Wickham & Lake Washington. Family run operation that features Polish & Eastern European food like kielbasa, pierogis, stuffed cabage, potato pancakes, chicken paprika, etc. It's beer & wine only, but they have some interesting European selections of both.

      1. Mezzaluna on Highland Avenue in the Old Eau Gallie Historic District might fit the bill for you - it's an Italian place with indoor and outdoor seating, or if you'd like to go somewhere more casual on the Eau Gallie River you could check out the Eau Gallie Crab House which is in what used to be the Burger King just south of Eau Gallie Blvd (SR518) on US1.

        1. So where did you end up taking him for his birthday?
