nr. Republique for foodie granny and 2 year old?
Going to Paris for 4 weeks with my mother-in-law and my three year old. She is entranced by the mythology of Paris. So I need something that will meet her fantasies but also accept a child (generally pretty well behaved esp. if there are frites nearby).
Any ideas?

Le Pétrelle, Joséphine Chez Dumonnet, Senderens, l'Auberge du Quincy, Le Sévero, l'Entrecôte, Au Dernier Métro, l'Auberge Bressanne, La Fontaine de Mars... I'm shorter on it being near République though I'd say you shouldn't miss the chocolates, caramels, etc of Jacques Génin, 133, rue de Turenne. If you fell like getting a taste of today's French creative cuisine, see also le Chateaubriand, and this is one is near République.

re: souphie
Thanks! Is the Dernier Metro that place near Commerce in the 15th? I used to go there and liked it a lot. It is perfect for what I am asking for -- a child plus someone older who wants Frenchness -- so if your other suggestions are for similar places, they will work out perfectly.
Again, thanks!
