Heard a rumor along the lines of a high-end or specialty grocery store called Union Market opening in the long-shuttered Blockbuster space on Court St. near DeGraw. Can anyone confirm any kind of info?

Don't know anything about it opening up in that space, but there are already two Union Markets in Park Slope -- one on Union and 6th Ave, the second on 7th Ave at about 13th Street.

They have very good produce, meat and fish, but I can't bring myself to shop there because it is so darned expensive, in my opinion.

definitely not cheap but nice produce. given all the great specialty shops in CG/Cobble Hill, and Trader Joe's, I'm not sure how needed Union Market really is, although anything beyond a Duane Reade or bank is better than an empty storefront.

There's a great produce place practically across the street - sure hope a new market wouldn't put them out of business. I've been very impressed with both their stuff and their prices.
