Kosher in South Beach
My boyfriend and I will be going to Miami for a day in August and we want to know where to eat. We will mostly be in the South Beach area, Ocean Dr., Collins Ave., down there.
Is there anything kosher down there or not too far from there? We will not have a car while we are down there as we are coming down from West Palm Beach on Tri-Rail for the day.
I don't know Miami well at all, so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

There's a small Israeli whole in the wall, Pita Loca, on 5th or 6th between Collins and Ocean. I had the schwarma and thought it was pretty good. It's also open late and right next to the beach/nightlife. If you want to start or end with a drink, you can walk around the corner to Ocean, sit outside, and enjoy one of the many drink specials.
There's also a CVS at the corner of 5th and Washington which sells some kosher packaged wraps, salads, and sushi.

Gourmet Carrot is really good. We were there last year for lunch and loved it. They have an outdoor seating area (similar to the restuarants on Lincoln Road) and an indoor area. Their menu is similar to dairy restaurants in that they serve salads, sandwiches, and wraps- not heavy food. The salads were delicious- grilled chicken, steak, tuna, or veggies were add on options. Some salads were vegetarian and some already had meat or fish on them. Burgers and wraps were great too.
The service was excellent- our waiter came back and filled our water glasses frequently, and didn't mind that we made some special requests. The menu was extensive and the waiter was really good about explaining the different items and options.
