aloe question

what are some of the ways in which people cook the large leaves of aloe often found in ethnic grocery stores?
i know about using the gel to heal burns and drinking aloe juice for health benefits, but what else is it commonly used for in cooking? do people cut it into strips and grill it like nopales?
just curious if anybody can recommend techniques or recipes...

  1. Click to Upload a photo (10 MB limit)
  1. Chop it up, boil it in some water and honey, until it reduces down to a jam like texture.

Let cool and serve as garnish over yogurt, ice cream, or even pound cake.
