Anniversary dinner in or around Pasadena

I need suggestions for a romantic evening with great food and wine in or around Pasadena. I saw a post similar in question a few weeks back but was targeted in the L.A./WLA area.

I thought firefly in so. pas would be good but haven't tried it myself and even brought up the idea of dining at palate but don't know if the ambience would be right.
We'd like to avoid mexican and sushi please.

If price is not an issue, if it were my anniversary I would head to The Dining Room @ the Langham. It's blissful from the moment you take a seat.

Just a note on the Dining Room ... change in chef recently so old reviews and experiences may not hold true anymore.

The food in the Dining Room was pretty good when we there just there for Memorial weekend. But as IPSE stated, Chef Strong has moved on (Montage) and it is just not the same without him.
