ISO Canning supplies - specifically the canning rack for inside the kettle

Getting myself ready for preserving summer's bounty... last year I bought these tiny jars for jams and found they fell through the canning rack that sits inside the kettle as you process - meaning the glass ended up directly touching the metal bottom of the kettle.

Where can I pick up a rack with smaller spacing so that I can make jams? (The canning rack came with the kettle. I bought it at Cdn Tire... but they don't sell replacement racks or racks with smaller spacing...) Any help?

I just put a kitchen towel on the bottom of the canning pot instead of a rack. It works just fine for me.

I have the above tool... I bought it about a year or two ago from the Canadian Tire at Yonge and Davenport. I have to admit, I don't love it... I've never quite gotten it to work properly... I usually just build a foil mesh thing on the bottom and go from there.

i would try using tin foil or something to close up the holes. otherwise wal-mart has a pretty extensive selection of canning supplies...

Assuredly an improv fix but I just used some wire from Rona to tighten up the pattern in the rack to catch the smaller jars.
