Hot Wing Challenge [Brooklyn Park, MN]

I know I've posted about this place before, but Girvan Grille in Brooklyn Park, MN just started this super spicy hot wing challenge.

For all you brave, spice-loving wing eaters out there, the Ghost Wing Challenge gives you 10 minutes to eat 10 wings. I've seen people do it-- complete with tears, sweat, and lots of pride!

I don't know much about the wings except that people seem to love them, despite how spicy they are. Someone explained to me that the Ghost Pepper is the hottest pepper in the world.

Intrigued? Stop by and give it a try!

  1. Do you get anything for completing the challenge? For the "Blazin' challenge" at BW3, you have to purchase the wings, and their consumption earns you the "right" to purchase a t-shirt.

yeah, you get a shirt about it for free! And I think they give you a free tap beer to cool off your mouth. You do have to buy the wings. I think they will eventually have a challenege with all of the previous winners!
You gonna give it a try?

Anything special you need to do to eat these or just show up and do so? I have a couple of hardcore spice addicts coming up on 7/25 to do the challenge and we're all looking forward to it.

i don't think so, but you could call to make sure.

          good luck!

    2. A buddy of mine and I tried out for the Ghost Wings Challenge last night and were not disappointed. The wings were extremely flavorful and carried some serious heat along with them. The staff at the Girvan Grille were awesome and came out to watch us partake while offering words of encouragement.

We had an absolute blast last night and if you're interested you can check out some video of us eating them here: and some pictures from last night here:

These wings come *highly* recommended by me to anyone who's looking for something to top what the usual Minnesota "hot" offerings may be. Just be forewarned, it hurts worse on day two...
