Market is good. Napa & Co around the block is better

Might also want to try Harvest Supper in New Canaan.

yeah, there's Napa in downtown Stamford. In Greenwich, there's Rebecca's. I haven't been but have wanted to go for some time. I've had good meals at Polpo in Greenwich, but some folks recently have had mixed experiences. Polpo isn't quite, I don't think, on the same quality level of Napa or Rebecca's however.
Two older school high end places that I hear mostly very good things about are Thomas Henkleman and Restaurant Jean Louis - both in Greenwich. I can't personally vouch for either, sadly.

IMHO, Henkleman is a touch better; and the Belle Haven setting, especially on a Summer eve, is beautiefull! Ask to dine on the porch. The price point is a bit high, but not crazy. Especially for an occasion.
I don't know why this restuarant doesn't get more attention on the boards. Probably because it's classical French more than cutting edge, new, or ethnic.
For a special occasion such as our upcoming anniversary, my Wisconsin born and bred bride will tolerate nothing less than this very un-midwestern restaurant.

I've said this before on this board. I think Henkleman is way over rated. Rude service, average food high prices. I've been there a few times and would not go back.
