For the last few months, I had been excited to hear about (and experience) Roadhouse BBQ begin to improve and live up to some 'modest' bbq standards. After eating there last night, I'm sorry to say that it looks like they've slipped back into their old habits.

Food: My wife and I shared the pulled pork sliders and the pork ribs, with the mac & cheese and hush puppies as a side. I had been a big fan of the sliders since they were added to the menu a few months ago, but this time they were awful. The bottom half of the biscuit was completely soaked in what seemed to be some combination of wetness from the cole slaw and pulled pork (which was very, very wet but didn't taste overly vinegary due to over saucing). For some reason the plate it came on was super heated as was the slaw on top of the pulled pork. The upper biscuit half was fine (and cool), so I’m guessing maybe it was under a heat lamp for a while? Regardless, the dish was pretty bad although the top biscuit halves were still tasty. The ribs came out dry and VERY overdone. Little to no smoke flavor. The hush puppies continue to be underwhelming; they are too large and fried at too high a temperature, so that they are tough and chewy. The mac and cheese was ok, but less cheesy than in the past.

Service: Pretty bad. Thankfully the wait staff seemed to be sharing tables, but our main server took about 15 minutes to get around to taking a drink order.

Beer: Still great

The food, IMO, hasn’t been this bad since the week it opened, but maybe it was just an off night. Even so, bbq really shouldn’t have many off nights and I think I’m done eating here except for an occasional snack at the bar.
