2 quickies while I am in charleston- Is there a bakery, please not panera in the area and how is the food at hanks. I think its on king street. Looking for some good seafood. Any blue crab around? Thanks.

Unfortunately, Kennedy's closed a couple weeks ago. I'd recommend Baked on East Bay Street (not far from East Bay and Broad). Most of their baked goods are sweet, but not overly so, and they have a few sandwiches and quiches. They also serve coffee and have free wi-fi and a great atmosphere.

Kennedy's bakery near corner of East bay/Calhoun or Saffron Bakery on East Bay may be what your looking for. Hank's is fine for seafood, it's 2 blocks from King street. Tourists rave about Hyman's - but not a local favorite by most accounts.
