Beautiful Bings for 99 cents/lb

This past Sunday I was in SF Chinatown and bought some great looking and tasting Bing cherries for 99 cents / lb. They were from a brand new box that was just opened and folks were shovelling out handfulls into plastic bags as the store clerk was putting them into bags. This is the produce store on Stockton St. East side - a few doors North of Jackson St. Walked by the produce store on the corner of Stockton & Broadway where cherries were 89cents/lb but they weren't nearly as nice. Queen Anne cherries were $1.29 lb but they were a bit bruised - i passed on them.

The Chinese markets on Clement St had cherries for 99 cent/lb but most were rejects or looked rather unripe. However, I bought some better ones for $1.49/lb at the corner market on 8th Ave.

I saw those and stupidly passed on them! They were still cold to the touch and looked amazing.

I had a similar experience with Brooks (I think) a few weeks ago for 89 cents, but when I went back for more I got a terrible batch.
