Good Indian Food for Lunch Near 14th street and 8th Avenue

I'm looking for a nice sit-down lunch place to take a couple of co-workers. It can be buffet or a la carte. Is there anything nearby, besides Spice Market, that would fit that description? Thanks!

I have had great take out from Lassi in the W. Village, but never actually eaten there. Pretty short walk from 14th and 8th.

Bombay Garden on 23rd & 7th is probably your best bet. It's nothing special, and somewhat uneven depending which dish you order, but I've had some enjoyable meals there. They do have a lunch buffet, if you're looking for that. The best things I've tried are generally from the "chef's specialties" part of the menu. Avoid the samosas - bland.

Sadly, no. There used to be a spot around 15th and Eight but it closed. Bombay Talkie on Ninth and 21st serves dinner only, I believe. Next closest would be the Village.

Spice Market isn't Indian and you would be hard-pressed to find a decent Indian sit-down in that area (I've been to nearly all of them). If you're willing to travel I can give a few more recommendations, such as Devi near Union Square, but if pressed, I would venture Indian Taj is the best of the lot on the West Side. They are the sister restaurant of a similar buffet in Jackson Heights, though neither one really does it for me.
