Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Greater Chicago

Dinner in Lakeview,Lincoln Park or Bucktown Sat night

I have family coming in this weekend and am trying to think of a place that will appeal to a broad range of tastes and have a fun atmosphere. For now the cuisine(s) we have narrowed it down to are Pan Asian or ASian Fusion, Greek/Mediterranean, MExican, New American and maybe even Italian. I know this is a long list but any help trying to narrow it down will be greatly appreciated. Also, trying to keep the entrees to the $20 or preferably, under, range.

Thanks in advance!

    1. Let's see, you could try:
      -Hot Chocolate in Bucktown
-Real Tenochtitlan (BYO) but it is in Logan Square
-West Town Tavern - some entrees would be a bit above your price range, but pretty close, I think
-Francesca's Forno in Bucktown - loud, but fun atmosphere and great Italian plates of all sizes

      Regardles, bon appetit!

          Thanks for the suggestion!

          • I really liked my recent meal at the relatively new Taxim in Bucktown. They offer what I would call more modern Greek food and everything I tasted (particularly the duck gyros) was very good. Entrees were in the high teens, low 20s.

Another thought that comes to mind is Mixteco Grill at Montrose/Ashland, just north of Lakeview. Excellent Mexican food and almost every entree is under $20.

I've always thought that Angelina is a fun neighborhood spot in Lakeview for Italian, and it too generally offers entrees under $20.

                Great, thanks!
