We had dinner there this weekend. The food was quite good but the service wasn't. The staff was sincere but didn't know how to serve from the right or not to pass food in front of the diner. The water wasn't filled consistently. They seem young and earnest but not well-trained. Dinner was $250 a couple without wine.

It's Winvian, named after Winthrop Smith (of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in the old days) and his wife Vivian. Third generation Win Smith is one of the directors. We were just there for lunch last week and thought it was EXTRAORDINARY. A beautiful place, super expensive if you stay there. But lunch was superb, and not over the top if you consider the gorgeous setting, service, quality, etc. We plan to go again in the fall. They have a really interesting website:
