Over the last four decades Corona park has flowered until now with it's lush shade trees, magnificent broad bench lined avenues, and verdant soccer fields, it rivals Tivoli, Kew, the Bois, and Central. Let us see how it can be an eaters' delight. To release some tension the key is in renting a bicycle.
Starting from the Manhattan island, take the famed subway the seven, carrying with you a bike lock (optional) and many amusing things.Go to the bike rental man near Ashe Stadium. The world is now your oyster, clam, what you will.
Path A --- Drive By. AYH rating: easy ride
Follow Jeff and Eric to the trucks on Roosevelt Ave. Thrill to Squid Kun, BrianS, Kathryn et al 's choices from the Golden Mall, go with Jntnmlr and Mushimushi427 to Southern Spice, grab a quick cumin lamb kebob at the Sanford Main truck. All are on gentle, short rides along shaded lanes and on streets with people in colorful native garb. Feeling a little full? Cycle to 104th and Corona to work off some calories and reward yourself with a profound soft serve at the great Timmy O's. This ride can be solo but the pleasure increases as more and more friends join in.
Path B --- Swarm. AYH rating: easy to intermediate.
Come with several people and assign one or two destinations to each rider. Have each pick up something great, not omitting restaurant selections like the tea smoked duck from Spicy and Tasty. Send the more advanced cyclists to Chao Thai, Nusara, or Sripraphai for a muscle burn. All meet at a predetermined spot in the park for a blast of a picnic. After many sighs of satisfaction I recommend one last ride around the park this time together then a fast but safe ride to Timmy O's for great soft custard before returning the bikes and sadly but happily heading homeward.
Path C --- The Liebling. AYH rating: above REM sleep.
Peddle to the miniature golf course and play the back nine. Then matching Queens restaurant expertise selection with Big Jeff, el Jefe, Bob Martinez, Dave, NYJBoy, and Jen Kalb, choose one restaurant and eat there. After a great meal avoid a fit of guilt by cycling to 104th st. and Corona ave. then choose between a piece of fruit or some Timmy O's soft serve.

Timmy O serves frozen custard, not to be confused with soft serve, which I believe is a different category of frozen dessert. Anyway, I created a Google walking map of the Corona area for another post, that includes several other spots within close distance to Corona Park that should be included on your itinerary.
About two years ago I walked through the park after a show at the Theatre In The Park and there were only a few stalls set up. Nothing special and a world away from what is served at the Red Hook Ball Fields. I wonder if anyone has more current information.

ya the food ain't phenomenal by any means although the only possible thing are the pupusas served in a far-ish corner of the park (near the soccer fields and the large circular pools). there is usually a crowd gathered and it takes at least 15-20 minutes to order, and longer to eat. and there is an armada of cuy vendors that set up at one of the far edges of the park; last i asked it was $35 for a full platter/serving.

Yesterday in the stupid weather I met my west coast nephew at the Corona bike rental and we cycled for food after a tour of the parks' hot spots (oh, just anywhere). We started the eating section of the tour at the Xian stall in the Golden Mall. We had prime seats by the fan, a bowl of Ma La Beef Noodle Soup, pork burger, and lots of water. Then we rode to Tong Sam Gyup Gui for a pork bash without air conditioning (so authentic) we were the only patrons. Had two number ones and a small river of water. Back to, then through the park for a few tamales at Tortilleria Nixtamal and a long descussion on the pros and cons of Robert Moses. Finished off at Timmy O's with a root beer float for me and a v. shake for him, both excellent as would be expected. With no time left, he had an early dinner appt. on a nearby island, we regretfully foreswore the Roosevelt Ave carts. While ruturning the bike we reflected on the pleasure of a unbalanced blow out and a park day well spent.
