Deep fried kimchee?

I just had this at a great restaurant in Portland (Biwa), and have been thinking about it for a few days now. It was battered and deep fried, so it was crunchy, salty, sour and spicy!!

Surely this is available somewhere in NYC?

  1. Was it encased in anything? Sounds delightful, from what I am imagining.

      yes! i think it was a salt and pepper flour batter. they look sort of like popcorn chicken/shrimp, but that salty batter works so well with the sour kimchee!
