Calgary: Chinese Meat Shop

pasaker May 26, 2009 04:23 PM

Hello Hello.

I am in a quest looking for a good Chinese meat shop where I can purchase pork bones for making soups and such. I used to go to the one that was in Lamba (?) Asian Supermarket on Centre St. But the service isn't pleasant, even for Asian standards I would say. The reason why I would go there instead of T&T is because they have pork marrow bones...that they sell separately. I was just wondering if anyone else had any suggestions to where I can purchase these bones or just another nice Chinese meat shop would be great. Thanks!

Try the meat counter inside Tops (inside the Landmark Mall, at the corner of Centre and 16th NW).

There is also a meat shop inside the small Chinatown mall on the SW corner of the Centre and 3rd intersection. I haven't shopped here in a while but it looks like they have a pretty deep selection. This is the same mall as Thai Tai, Delicious Country, and Han's.

Also try the one where "Try Again" bubble tea is, in the basement next to Diamond Bakery.

There's also a butcher shop inside the mall that goes between 3rd and 2nd ave SW. Animage modelling store is in the same mall. There's also a popular pho resto there, can't remember the name. That butcher shop has awesome meat balls.

You might try Lucky Fresh Meat at the Far East Shopping Centre. All manner of pork.

      130 3 Avenue SE

Belly, (Mmmm,) bones, shoulder, beef flank too.

      More or less polite service.
