Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in the Greater Los Angeles Area (including Orange & Ventura Counties and SW San Bernardino County)

Great food near Mosaic Hotel Beverly Hills

I will be staying up at the Mosaic Hotel in Beverly Hills soon.

I was hoping to get some tips for lunch and dinner that are more or less walking distance.

High end or low end doesn't matter as long as its real good and somewhat unique with a decent atmosphere (for dinner especially).

Sushi, other hotel restaurants fine dining all ok.

Thanks for your help.

Great tip, I forgot about that place.

      Thanks.

    2. For high-end, Craft, Cut, Mako, Spago and Wolfgang's Steakhouse. For more moderate, Enoteca Drago or Joss. If you want really high-end ($350+), Urasawa--many posts on the Board that do it more justice than I could.

Add: Il Pastaio, a few yards south from Enoteca Drago.
        Remove: Craft, not walking distance.
Stay away from: Beverly Wilshire's The BLVD (unless you're desperate to get 1000 Opentable points).

        1. re: RicRios

Depends what you consider walking distance. It is under a mile from the hotel by foot (about .87 miles versus about .7 for Il Pastaio or the Enoteca).

          1. re: New Trial

Lots of traffic, route not pedestrian-friendly.

          Excellent list.

          Thank you.

Which ones of these would be good for dining solo at the bar?

          1. re: stevewag23

            Craft!

              À propos the Craft bar:

Nate 'n Al doesn't have a bar, but they're perfectly nice (in their brusque deli way) to solo diners at small tables.

I don't know Craft as a restaurant but I'd agree that it's a much less pleasant walk into Century City than on the pedestrian friendly streets of the Beverly Hills Business Triangle. Not dangerous, not that far, just not fun.

Sushi Sushi would be a great place to dine alone at the bar. Also, at Craft you have the Craftbar menu of small plates all priced under $10.00. They are terrific!

Also, Mako has great food and a nice bar with a view of the kitchen for dining solo.

Craft, Cut (it is called SideBar), Mako, Enoteca Drago or Wolfgang's would all be fine for bar dining (though SideBar might be a bit less comfortable as it gets crowded and noisy) and Craft even offers a special CraftBar menu if you want something lighter and less expensive.
