Gift for my Bro.
My brother just moved to the city near Bucktown. Since he is new to the area, I'd like to give him some sort of gift certificate that he can use either for food, restaurant or a little fun. Preferably I'd like it be close to where he's living since he needs to get to know his neighborhood better, but any good ideas will be greatly appreciated. He's not too adventurous an eater.
Thanks

Get him an A La Card (http://www.alacardchicago.com/).
A deck of 52 cards, each card is a $10 coupon for an independent local restaurant. It's a great way to explore different restaurants in all parts of the city. The deck only costs $30 (and $1 gets donated to Common Threads).

The not-too-adventurous part stopped me in my tracks because I wasn't sure exactly what that meant, but here goes.
You might consider Francesca's Forno, an Italian small-to-large plates member of the Francesca chain or the Northside, a burger and beer place that has been in the 'hood forever (a good gathering place). Other options he might like include Club Lucky on Wabansia, a very popular and conventional Italian joint or Jane's on Courtland which has good brunches, lunches and dinners.
Check out their menus and see what you think.
