Anyone know the name of the truck-stop BBQ place. It has the best vinegar based pulled pork sandwiches with sauce on the side and a great cole slaw for crunch! I only go when on the road to Vegas or LA, but I have been dreaming about that sandwich.
Man, I hate to be a hater, but the best thing we had for late lunch at Willow Ranch today was the ice water. Spouse had a chicken leg quarter with beans, corn on cob, and baked potato; I had the shredded pork sandwich. My pork was dry and salty (bread wasn't bad), and with only a faint smokiness. As far as the chicken, I've eaten dry and stringy white meat chicken before, but I'd never had a dry and stringy chicken thigh until today. Either they were running the smoker at 400 degrees or the meats got a light smoke overnight and sat under heat lamps all day. The fries with my sandwich were okay, and the baked potato wasn't bad either, but the corn tasted like a frozen cob that had been sitting in hot water for a long time, and the beans had no flavor other than a light smokiness. Service was very good, though. I hope we hit them at an off time, but the meats were really far off the mark.
