Maki Japaneese (Near Promenade Mall) Horrible Dinner

Over the past few weeks I've been visiting a number of Japaneese food places in the North Toronto area typically orderIing Sashimi for dinner. The best to date in this mid-north vicinity has been # 1 ( Zen ). High quality, fresh & great service. 2nd would be Miche Cafe, a bit overpriced for the portions although good quality. I did not get to try Amoya as when I walked in at 9pm Friday as they close at 9:30 they asked if it would be ok that I be out by 9:15 as they wanted to close. Not cool.... never turn away a customer.
I went to Zen and walked in 5 minutes before they closed and they were happy to seat me and not rush my dinner in the least. Amazing!!

Onto my real dissapointment - Maki Japaneese Cuisine.
I did not realize this place serves an all u can eat menu. They do not offer you the a la carte or regular menu unless you requested it. This place is run by Koreans and is not Japaneese.

Very disordily inside, I've seen better service and management at Mandarin.
The food is horrific. The green tea is watery with a hint of tea at best.
The green salad (tiny bowl) was just caked with what looked like thousand island dressing, I refused to touch it it was so disgusting, I swear there was a half cup of dressing blopped on top of this tiny 3" bowl. Can it get worse, yes. The Miso soup was watery and salty, again I did not have it., The waitress brought me a new salad bowl with no dressing on it although at first she was not impressed with my dissapointment and was saying that's just the way it is. Next phase of the nightmare. The sashimi - What the hell was that, they keep it already presliced in the fridge "What" Presliced !!!!!! 4 of the 16 pieces were artificial crab meat and four were that rubbery fake lobster claw. God Awfull !!!! Please Please Please Stay Away!!!!!!
