Thanks, I'll look at those. Any specific Leidseplein suggestions would be appreciated. Also, are most menus in "Euro-speak", or will I need to study some basic Dutch food terms. I have English and menu-French.
Thanks

I would stay away from the Leidseplein area. It's touristy and generally low quality. The only decent restaurant in the area I can think of is te Pas: http://www.restauranttepas.nl/ It's a relatively small restaurant run by two brothers. The menu is mostly French with. You can opt for a la carte or a surprise menu with optional wine pairings.
And no worries about language. Most restaurants have an English menu and English speaking staff.
