Main Madness next wkend! (May 27-31)

  • 9

Hoo boy, just saw the yellow signs last night warning there's no parking on St-Laurent between Sherbrooke and Mont-Royal from this Wed to Sunday night.

That's right, part one of the Main's street fest/sale is next wkend!
That means loads of great street eats for chowhounders.... jerk chicken, corn on the cob, Hungarian sausages, smoked meat, Portugese chicken, empanadas, chow mein.... the list goes on - and lots of space to walk it off.

Here's the other dates the Main will have the fairs this year:

And yes, this does seem to be starting a couple weeks earlier than usual (it's usually mid-June during the Fringe Fest, then only a week or two later for the late Grand Prix, but now they're spacing it out more, which seems a good idea).

p.s. not usually up this early but there's free burger with my name on it. I will be napping later...

hope they have the ukrainian foods this year, and since it is free museum entries that sunday you can enjoy the variety of foods, culture and then history

Ooh, I didn't know about that event. Thanks, wilmagrace.

        1. Thanks for the hands up! Ça donne bien - normally I work outside Montréal that weekend, but my work event is one week later this year. I am happy that the Madness is NOT during the Fringe Fest, as that means we have the pretty parks at the corner of Rachel and Marie-Anne to nosh in, if we so desire.

Agreed. I love the Fringe, but it makes St-Lo crazy enough on its own without the Madness at the same time. Besides, it's hard enough to make the shows you'd like to see without all the fun outside...

It goes without saying I won't miss the GP crowds, even if all my friends working in bars & restos will.

Thanks for the heads-up on the free museum / food day in Old Mtl, I forgot about that!

          2. Thanks for the heads up! I'm definitely gonna go :D
