Has anyone ever heard of this place or been there? Someone just sent me this link: http://www.tamalesleo.com/index.html

It's probably Tamaleo. They used to have a restaurant going towards Bastrop. I think it closed. They sell the tamales, on saturday at the Downtown and Sunset Valley Farmers Markets .

The one you are thinking of (Oaxacan Tamaleo, run by Leonor "Leo" Baños Stoute) used to be on Anderson Lane and then moved out to Bastrop. I ate there a few time when they were on Anderson and they were wonderful, although very different from what we think of as a traditional tamale (much bigger and more flavorful). The website for Tamales LEO appears more traditional Mexican (appears to be from Guanajuato, run by Leonor Esqueda). Similar name, different places (apparently).

Did it really close? I haven't heard that. Their website doesn't note that:

I was saddened when they moved way the heck out on Hwy. 71. It was much easier to get to in that little store on Anderson.
This is a very different place, as Danny_w points out, although the names are very close.

Yes, I really miss them too. I could get to Anderson fine, but Bastrop is a little far for lunch from the Arboretum.
