Pulled Pork

So, this may sound incredible, but I just tried pulled pork for the first time. My mom rarely served pork products growing up unless it was prosciutto wrapped around melon. We never had baked ham, or pork chops, etc and I just grew up assuming I didnt like pork. I once had deli ham and I can say for a fact that I am not a fan. However, getting to the point, today I went to Huckleberry and fell in love with the pulled pork sandwich. Does anyone know of anywhere else to go to get pulled pork on the westside? Thanks in advance!

  1. I really like the pulled pork sandwich at Baby Blues BBQ, which is on the east side of Lincoln near the border of Santa Monica and Venice. They serve their pulled pork sandwich on a bun with a texture similar to a rustic English muffin, crisped nicely on the grill, along with some cole slaw. The other pulled pork sandwich I can heartily recommend on the westside is served at lunch at Nook Bistro. My favorite pulled pork in all of SoCal is the massive moist succulent serving dished up at Porky's BBQ, but their westside location (formerly on Manchester near the Forum) has closed and they remain in business in Long Beach.

    1. Baby Blues in Venice has the best pulled pork on the westside.

Haven't been to Baby Blues so I can't comment, but should you wish to make a pilgrimage to what in a growing number of opinions is the best bbq in town - and I think their pulled pork is superb - you can go to Bludso's, 811 S. Long Beach Blvd. Compton. I get the spicy sauce, on the side.

        2. Baby Blues is solid, but JR's is really good as well.
