Worthwhile Thai food in Carlsbad or thereabouts?

We're taking a trek down to Carlsbad, haven't spent any time in the area in eons, and have no idea where to have dinner. A great Thai restaurant would make us all very happy before we head back up home to the belly of the beast.
For Thai, we always liked Bangkok Bay in Solana Beach
However if sushi fits the bill for you. Kaito in Encinitas is amazing.

if you're willing to drive, Sab E Lee in Linda Vista is easily the best Thai in SD. Easily puts Siamese Basil, Taste of Thai, Spices and everyone else to shame.
Quite frankly, if you're willing to do sushi and don't want to drive south to Linda Vista, I'd go to Kaito (do omakase) or Yu Me Ya over finding a good Thai place close by.
Definitely, for North County, Thai Garden in Oceanside would be my pick as well.
From Carlsbad, you head east on the 78, exit College, head north, and then make a right on Oceanside Blvd. It's on the left just before Temple Heights Drive. Can't be more than a 12 minute drive from door to door from anywhere in Carlsbad, since you can also connect to College through Calavera Hills if you don't take the freeway.
