Main Line Chowhounds: Advice on Lourdas Greek Taverna?

Though longtime resident of the Eastern Main Line, I have never tried this place. Planning to check it out this Saturday. What are people's opinions of this place? Anything special you like to order there?

Thanks

I hope you enjoy your meal. I ate here about a year ago and it was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Horrible food. The octopus we had was tough and very chewy. Both of our entrees were extremely greasy. I do not recommend going here.

I second the last post... it was really bad the time I was there also. I know it's a very small laid back place, but they just don't do it right. All the flavors are very dull and lifeless. One thing i remember, we had a laugh at the dessert selection... baklava, baklava cheesecake, & baklava icecream... that was all. I know it's Greek, but come one... there have to be a few other things people eat for dessert in Greece.

I guess you may have already eaten your meal, but for what it's worth, I had a delicious meal there about 6 months ago. I don't eat a lot of greek food, so I may have been less discerning than the others though. My only complaint was probably that it seemed slightly overpriced, but from the meal I had, I would say it was worth a try.

I've only been there once. They have hands down the best Tzatziki I have ever tasted. I dont know what they do that nobody else does, but its worth it for the Tzatziki alone! FYI - I think Lourdas is cash only...
