Getting married in Vegas...on a budget

My fiance and I are headed to Vegas next weekend, meeting four close friends to tie the knot...sort of a quasi elopment till we have an actual ceremony with friends and family. One of us will have a carr so i def want to go to LOS and Raku...we are staying on the strip...
Does anyone have any suggestions for specials or cheap eats while we are there? I love love sushi- what's the best bang for the buck in Vegas?

Thanks so much in advance!

  1. How much are you willing to spend per person per meal? Also, will you have a car? There are a lot of options off the Strip. However, using cabs to get there gets very expensive. What types of other cuisine are you looking for in addition to sushi?

The Ellis Island casino is a block behind Bally's. It is quintessential Vegas cheap eats. The place is certainly nothing fancy. The hotel attached to the casino is the world's largest Super 8. The name of the restaurant inside the casino is "Restaurant". The thing to get is the off-menu steak special: 10 ounce sirloin with baked potato, veggies, soup or salad, and a glass of house-brewed beer, all for $7. There's more than a few places on the Strip where that won't even get you the baked potato! Naturally it isn't A5 Kobe, but it's not a bad steak and they do a good job cooking them.

They also have a brewery patio that serves up BBQ ribs and chicken from 4pm-10pm. You can get half of a chicken for $7, or half a rack of ribs for $8, or half a chicken AND half a rack of ribs for $9.

awesome- thanks so much!! we'll be staying right around there and this trip is already costing us quite a bit so the rec is def appreciated!

          2. The Sichuan scene isn't strong in Las Vegas, as far as I know, but I'd recommend Dong Ting Spring, a Hunan restaurant off of Spring Mountain.

And you sound like a perfect candidate for Hot & Juicy Crawfish, which is cheap, informal, and messy. http://www.kats9lives.com/2008/07/hot...
