I'm finally trying Rasika tomorrow night for the first time. My boyfriend and I have been trying to go there for months now but every time he's in town they are either booked or closed. This time I planned well in advance!

So the question is: What should I order? I know about the spinach dish and chocolate samosa that chickenkabob always talks about. But what else?

Also do you order multiple dishes and share (like we traditionally do at say, Heritage, or other Indian restaurants) or is it more 1 dish per person?

We usually will get 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a dessert (or 2 if they look really good and we are not full)...but not sure if that's how the dishes are usually ordered at Rasika.

Can't wait to report back to all of you about what we thought!

Their tasting menu is actually pretty reasonably priced. When we went for the first time, my husband ordered the meat one and I ordered the vegetable one so that we could try a lot. They have overlap in terms of apps and desserts, if I recall, so we asked our waiter if we could substitute so that we could try a lot, and he readily agreed.

Feel comfortable asking the waiters. They're great, and sometimes it can be hard to tell how spicy something will be from the description.

Definitely get the spinach chaat(Palak Chaat). Also get the bread basket to soak up all the delicious sauces you'll be having. We had an amazing duck (Narangi Duck) , perfectly spicy. Their vegetarian dishes are really impressive and we ordered a few to go with the bread, rather then just getting two entrees. If you like lentils you must have the Dal Makhani. If you like the Indian style home made cheer, go for Paneer Tawa Masala. I've also heard really good things about the black cod and the fish stew, but have not tried either. Their wine list is one of the best. Enjoy!
