Brunch/lunch in Metro Detroit Saturday

tdmort May 20, 2009 06:31 PM

I'm looking for a good place for brunch or lunch on Saturday. If it were near a farmers market that would be an added bonus. Not looking to spend top dollar, something homestyle and comforting. We're in the Plymouth Canton area but would be willing to travel. I know both Ann Arbor and Royal Oak have Farmers Mkts on Saturday. Thanks Chowhounds!

Somewhat near RO would be either Frittata in Clawson, Berkley Breakfast Cafe in Berkley, or Breakfast Club in Madison Heights. All good for brunch/lunch type dishes.

I haven't had breakfast at Sweet Lorraine's (Southfield) but their other food is good, so I'd assume breakfast is as well.

Why not do Eastern Market in Detroit? Farmer’s restaurant has a nice corned beef hash. The bloody Mary at Vivio’s is legendary.

The Flytrap in Fashionable Ferndale with the Royal Oak Farmer Market.

At least that might be my plans. :)

Thanks for all of the suggestions. We ended up going to Ann Arbor. Enjoyed the farmers market. Had breakfast at Broken Egg. It was pretty good. I thought it was a bit expensive for breakfast. Sat outside at a table and people watched, which was nice.
