Best sushi on the strip in Vegas?

Planning a trip to Vegas in August, and looking for some sushi recommendations on the strip.

I've eaten at Shibuya @ MGM before and think they're great. I also have my eye on Yellowtail @ the Bellagio.

Anywhere else I should look into? I should add that Specialty Rolls are very important to me, as I like to see the different concoctions that various chefs come up with.

Thanks in advance!

  1. I really like Japonais. I have been to Okada a couple of times (will never again), Nobu (not unless it is on someone else $), and Japonais and found the diversity and quality at Japonais to be very good. And compared to the other two, relative bargain!

I had been to the old sushi place in Bellagio and found it to be good. I have not, however, been to Yellowtail. I have to say, I am not really a huge fan of any sushi place in Vegas. I am from CT and work in NYC and like steakhouses, I am spoiled with the quality here.

Where in CT? I am lower Fairfield county. I may get flack from others by saying this but my experience in Las Vegas (started going in late 80's/early 90's) is that sushi and steak are the areas that lack compared to other categories. It's not that both are bad, but it has more to do with what you are comparing it to. And, in my experience and humble opinion, steak and sushi joints in NYC are NO comparison for those in Las Vegas. Yes, there are some in Vegas that can stand up to some in NYC but when comparing the top tier, there is no comparison.

    2. Last summer I ate solo at Sushi Roku. Had the Omakase. Loved it!
