Can you use flax seed oil in hummus?

just curious. I use olive oil and I was wondering if one could use flax seed oil instead?

  1. no reason you *can't* use it. of course it will affect the flavor of the hummus, since flax seed oil tastes distinctly different from olive oil...but that's not a bad thing if you're also adding tahini - it'll enhance the nuttiness.

I'd agree, except I'd add that if you'll be serving it to others, make sure they're not averse to flax oil. Lots of people are fine with flax seeds, but find the oil unpalatable.
