Does anyone know where one can find Zereshk in New York City?

Zereshk (زرشک) is the Persian name for the dried fruit of Berberis vulgaris, which are widely cultivated in Iran. Iran is the largest producer of zereshk and saffron in the world. Zereshk and saffron are produced on the same land and the harvest is at the same time.

Thanks,
Nick

Have you tried looking for a persian grocery? Try online - there are definitely persian distributors from DC and LA that ship...good luck.

Nader grocery store is on the north west side of 28th St near 5th ave. It's been a while since I was there last, but I know they still exist, and they would definitely have zereshk.

There's another Iranian grocery store in that general area that I happened upon many years ago. I don't remember the name or location, and don't know if it's still open. It may have been called Pars (well before the restaurant by the same name opened up). Not to start a wild goose chase, but does anyone else have info on whether this place exists, is open, and is any good?
