Good Food near B.U.
My son has recently started taking some courses at B.U. Are there any chowish place in the vicinity that I could tell him about? Thanks.

Allston, easily one of the most chowish 'hoods in the metro area, is a stone's throw from B.U.:

I'll also give a nod to Clear Flour, without a doubt my favorite boulangerie in town. Nowhere to sit at the bakery, but sitting outside with a Clear Flour croissant and coffee makes a hell of a great start to a spring day.

Right along the BU campus . . . there may not be too much that is Chowish, although I used to get a Honey Mustard Chicken sandwich and a Baklava from the Campus Trolley ( a little street-stand near the Sargeant College for lunch almost everyday).
Other better than average destinations nearby include Lollicup, the University Grill makes some tasty sandwiches, Eastern Standard, and Victoria Seafood. If you walk (or take the B-line) just a bit further away from downtown, you're opening up the wealth of restaurants in Allston and Brookline, including Shanghai Gate, Jo Jo Taipei, the Super 88 Food Court, Carlo's Cucina, and many others.
