Napa bar to watch soccer next Wednesday? Champions League Final

Reignking May 19, 2009 07:09 AM

My wife and I will be in Napa for the first time next week, and I want to watch Barcelona beat ManU in the Champions League final. Luckily, the match is on ESPN -- does anyone have any recommendation in Napa for a good bar to watch this at? I'm looking for a place that has more than "generic" bar food. It is probably a pipe dream, but if there's a place where others are going to watch it, that would be great, too.

If nothing turns up for Napa, over on the Sonoma side in Santa Rosa, Rosso Pizzeria lives for soccer. Take a seat at the wine bar to see the games. Click on the places link below for more info on the food.

What time is the game? The only place in Napa I know of is Oxbow Wine Merchant. They have one big screen only, a little high and because it's a big space a little far from the bar. Always have sports on. Great menu with the best fish tacos in Napa.

Game starts at 11:45 a.m. PT. I'll probably be at Steffs on 2nd street in SF. I'm sure one of the bartenders was crushed by the semifinal outcome (she is a big Chelsea supporter). If you are in SOMA the Cheiftain and Steffs are the two best places for European Football matches.

Sweet -- the game is in an hour, and I was going to go to the area and wing it, anyway.
