Cedar Restaurant--New in PQ

  • j

This restaurant just opened in Penn Quarter. Has anyone been there yet? I went to the website but there's no menu posted yet. I want to know about the food and bar scene.

  1. I was wondering the same thing. I signed up for their emails in hopes that they would send around some info but things seem to be a little hush, hush. Are they fully opened now or is it just a soft opening?

Thanks for the info. Looks like my style of cooking so I'm looking forward to checking it out. (Especially that quail dish!)

where do you see the menu posted on FB or their website? I can't seem to find it.

It's posted on the wall about half way down. It's posted as a picture and says Menu. May 14th at 3:31pm is the date if that helps.

The menu was posted outside - it's not a long menu - apps around $10-$12 and entrees in the high 20's. It seems to focus on American ingredients. I didn't go in to check out the scene, though.

      3. Anyone been yet? The menu looks great. Was thinking of trying it out this week...

        1. The menus are now on the website. Looks like it could be a good addition to the neighborhood, though with so much in this area at that same price-point it will have to serve good food to standout. The brunch menu looks like an interesting option.

            1. We went to Cedar last night while visiting my BIL and SIL in DC. I can't say enough about it. First of all, it's a beautiful restaurant and while many establishments scale back on their restaurant week offerings, Cedar seems to do the opposite. They had tuna, lobster, and filet among their main course offerings. Truffles abounded as well.

Also, we have two children that were most efficiently accommodated. We had a corner to ourselves and ordered off the bar menu for them. After a long day of museums and monuments, the food and the staff were outstanding. Well done!
