Solo diner looking for open kitchen bar for dinner tonight.

Hi all,

Just got into SF and found out the people I was meant to be meeting for dinner missed their plane. So I am looking for somewhere for dinner tonight for myself. Normally I would go to Boulevard, as I really enjoy sitting at the open kitchen and watching the chef's prepare the food, but I have done that the last few times I have been in the city and was hoping someone could recommend somewhere else where I could eat and watch the 'artists' at work?

  1. Nopa is probably your best bet for a counter seat and a "show." Others that come to mind right away are Bar Tartine and Laiola. Both have long counter bar seating and open kitchen although the open kitchen is off to the side and not directly in front of you. Incanto's bar seating is also off to side of kitchen view.

and laiola's link. Also just remembered that Pizzeria Delfina's counter gives a great view. The California location has a longer counter for larger view.

    2. SPQR has a bar with an open kitchen directly in front of you.
